Argent Trust Company ramps up Mississippi presence

Louisiana-based Argent Financial Group is expanding its US footprint by opening a new office in Ridgeland, Mississippi.

The new location is the firm's second branch in Mississippi and will cater to the Jackson metropolitan market. It is the firm's 31st location across the nation. AFG has also expanded its Oxford office.

AFG CEO Kyle McDonald said: "Argent Financial Group continues to build a significant and growing presence in Mississippi after entering the Oxford market some five years ago.

"The new office in the Jackson market is a natural extension of our strategy to expand our footprint in Mississippi and other Southern states and deliver relationship-focused, fiduciary services from an independent, growing firm."

The new branch will be led by Argent Trust Company vice president and trust officer David Russell. He has been working at the company since April.

Russell joined Argent Trust Company in April and was based in Nashville. He previously was a senior vice president and relationship manager for Pinnacle Trust in Madison. He has been active in the financial and estate planning community of Jackson since returning to Mississippi in 1994 and enjoys mentoring new advisors.

Among the services offered by AFG include trust administration, investment management, family office, retirement and estate planning.

The firm serves individuals, families, institutions and businesses, overseeing $19bn in assets.
