Artisan launches Thematic Ucits fund

Artisan Partners has launched the Artisan Thematic Fund, and Irish Ucits managed according to the Thematic strategy itself launched on 1 May 2017.

Christopher Smith will manage the new fund. He joined Artisan in Octoer 2016, having previously worked at Karsh Capital, Soros Fund Management and Kingdon Capital on both long and long/short portfolios. The Thematic team at Artisan oversees some $551m in its Thematic and Thematic Long/Short strategies as at the end of November.

 

Launching the Ucits version of the strategy opens it up to additional investors who have asked for the exposure.

Andrew Marks, managing director and head of EMEA distribution said: "We think this is a strategy that will resonate broadly with European investors seeking a fresh focused approach to the US equity market."

Artisan Partners reported total AUM of some $105.4bn as at the end of November, of which $4bn was in its Irish Ucits platform.
