Italian insurer group Generali has appointed Lydia Malakis as head of strategy and business accelerator to the group's asset & wealth management business unit.
Malakis joins Generali from Vanguard, where she was responsible for strategic clients as head of global financial intermediaries.
Prior to that, between 2004 and 2017, she held several senior roles at Schroders, such as head of global financial clients group, country head for Greece & Turkey and deputy head for Central & Eastern Europe.
With 20 years' experience in senior roles in the asset management industry working across the US, the UK and Europe, Malakis started her career as a quantitative analyst in Putnam Investments.
She achieved a CFA in ESG Investing, among the first professionals in Europe to obtain this certificate, Generali said in a note.
