Pictet AM names Italy country head

Pictet Asset Management has appointed Paolo Paschetta as Italy country head in a move aimed at bolstering the firm’s business in the country.

Paschetta, to the date Pictet AM’s commercial director for Italy and Greece, will now lead the manager’s Italian team of 28 members reporting to Luca Di Patrizi, global responsible for the firm’s retail and wholesale distribution channels.

Pictet AM’s new Italy country head, who succeeds former Italy country head Manuel Noia, joined the firm as sales manager in 2005. Prior to his time working for Pictet AM, he contributed to the sales distribution team of Clerical Medical Investment Group in Italy, a company belonging to Halifax Bank of Scotland. Prior to that, he worked as equity sales at the investment banking team of UBS Warburg in Zurich. Previously, he worked at various companies including Gorham & Partners in London and at Arthur Andersen Corporate Finance.

Pictet Asset Management, with offices in Milan since 1999, has some €26m in assets under management in Italy.
