DNCA Finance has set up its equity absolute return team with the appointment of Pierre Valade, effective 26 November 2018, bringing more than ten years’ experience in this type of portfolio management approach.

Valade has been working on the equity markets for 20 years, including ten years as a long-short portfolio manager at GLG Partners in London, where he co-managed the absolute return ‘GLG European Alpha Alternative fund’.

Valade previously spent six years at Natixis Securities, two of which were spent as head of sales in the UK, and also worked at Exane in New York where he focused on stock-picking on US companies for European investors. He started his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in 1996.

Cyril Freu, absolute return manager and deputy CIO, has decided to take a new career opportunity after almost ten years at DNCA Finance, where he made a strong contribution to the company’s expansion. He recently resigned and will be leaving the company on 23 November 2018.

Mathieu Picard, who has been working with Cyril Freu for several years, along with Alexis Albert who joined the team in 2017, will continue to manage the fund range with the same aims in mind and with a strong conviction on the recovery potential harboured by the strategies the team has implemented.
