Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) has announced the soft closing of GS Global Small Cap CORE equity portfolio.
To uncover opportunities in the global small cap market, the over $650m equity portfolio combines a fundamental investment approach with quantitative methods. The fund is part of the so-called global and international small cap strategies, which comprise more than $6bn and are managed by GSAM’s Quantitative Investment Strategies team (QIS team).
Since Friday, November 16, 2018, GS Global Small Cap CORE Equity Portfolio is closed to new investors. Existing customers can continue to invest in the fund.
Nick Phillips, head of International Private Banking at GSAM, said: “Our QIS team has been using innovative quantitative methods for over 30 years to make informed investment decisions. The fund’s soft-closing reflects the huge customer demand and underscores the team’s proven investment process. ”
The GSAM QIS team currently manages assets in excess of $165bn. The company’s Equity Alpha team controls over $45bn in various markets.
