DNB Bank, the largest financial group in Norway, has announced a partnership with data solutions provider Collibra, to improve its understanding of how data is being used across business processes.
Besides improving business operations and service delivery to customers, the data governance and cataloguing solution is also intended to assist in monitoring compliance with industry data regulations.
Aidan Miller, executive vice president Group Digital Insights and chief data officer at DNB, described the partnership as another step on the path to creating a “data driven organisation”.
“Digital adoption is driving an explosive growth of data, creating new challenges to manage and ensure compliant use of large volumes of data,” he said.
DNB sees it as important to listen to the ‘digital voice’ of customers, as it seeks to deliver tailored digital customer experiences.
Steve Neat, Collibra VP Sales, EMEA, noted that companies across all industries are having to face up to a digital transformation that is being driven by the generation of “huge volumes of data”. But to make best use of this data requires application of data governance, and to ensure collection of data in an efficient and compliant manner.
DNB has a significant customer set in the shipping, energy, fisheries and seafood sectors – reflecting its Norwegian roots – but is also applying an international business strategy.
