BNY Mellon Investment Management has appointed Nick Thiem as head of UK wealth managers and private banks.
Thiem has over two decades of experience leading and driving distribution strategies focusing on wealth managers, global financial institutions, multi-managers and family offices. He joins BNY Mellon IM from Coupland Cardiff Asset Management where he was head of UK distribution. Prior to this, he held senior distribution roles at Aberdeen Asset Management (now Standard Life Aberdeen), Scottish Widows Investment Partnership and Gartmore Investment Management (now Henderson).
Thiem will focus on offering investors relevant solutions from the firm’s specialists including Insight Investment, Newton Investment Management, Walter Scott & Partners, Alcentra and BNY Mellon IM’s US multi-asset manager. In addition, he will support the firm’s wider distribution strategy for global financial institutions.
The firm has also hired Adam Lomas as investment sales manager responsible for the South East and London from Franklin Templeton, and expanded its strategic partnerships team with Amy Henderson and Ryan Grey, who joined from Jupiter Asset Management and BNY Mellon IM’s UK client services team, respectively.
