HSBC names global banking chief for Italy

HSBC has appointed Anna Tavano as head of Global Banking for Italy.

Of her 20 years’ experience in the industry, Tavano worked 18 for the banking sector based in London and Milan.

Tavano joins HSBC from Citigroup, where she worked as managing director for the corporate and investment banking division as well as as vice chairman Corporate Bank and head of Public Sector of the firm.

Prior to that, she worked as general director of the Infrastructure and Transport Development department and general director of the department for Management of National and European Funds for Italy’s public sector.

Tavano started her career in the banking sector working at Citigroup in 1997, where she served for 12 years. Based in Milan, she will now report to Matthew Wallace, HSBC head of Global Banking Europe and to Gerd Pircher, the firm’s Italy CEO.
