APFI welcomes back co-founder Roland Meerdter to Advisory Board

Roland Meerdter, previously co-founding director of the Association of Professional Fund Investors (APFI) has agreed to rejoin the Association in an Advisory Board role.
He had left his roles at the Association after five years to focus on developing Door – the platform that provides a standardised DDQ solution for fund selectors and product manufacturers. Meerdter is a co-founder and director of Door – which developed out of a concept that evolved at the APFI as part of seeking ways to automate or simplify elements of the selection process, to enable fund selectors to focus on the greater value add elements of their daily functions.
The APFI has been set up to advance the interests of buy side professionals, including addressing topics and trends that affect the asset management industry, and to provide a forum for fund selector members on issues of best practice in areas such as research, analysis, due diligence and selection.
Meerdter will, going forward, serve on the Association’s Advisory Board.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to be involved with the APFI as an adviser. Great strides have been made by the Association in the development and promotion of best practice for fund research and due diligence. I and my colleagues at Door look forward to supporting APFI’s leadership in their efforts”, he said.
Jon “JB” Beckett, APFI co-Founder and director, added: “We are quite privileged to have Roland on the Advisory Board. As director emeritus, and co-founder of the APFI, Roland is well known globally in fund management and fund research circles. His past roles in investment multi-management, consultancy, and as co-founder of Door places him as a well-rounded adviser for the progression of the profession. His coming on board also further strengthens the relationship between APFI and Door.”
