Goldman Sachs Asset Management announced the launch of the Goldman Sachs GQG Partners Global Equity Portfolio, that will be managed by Rajiv Jain, chairman and chief investment officer of GQG Partners.
The long-only fund will seize high-quality opportunities around the globe and relies on a flexible independent investment approach.
“We believe that including non-traditional perspectives in our bottom-up approach allows us to see things other investors may miss, a belief reinforced by experience successfully navigating two 20%+ drawdowns and a 50%+ drawdown in the global equity market,” commented Rajiv Jain, CIO and portfolio manager.
The portfolio will hold 35 to 70 global companies demonstrating sustainable long-term growth prospects at a reasonable price. Fundamentals of each potential holding will be assessed by the investment team.
“Many investors require more global diversification in their equity portfolios as well as a focus on achieving long-term results,” said Nick Phillips, head of International Third Party Distribution at GSAM.
“Rajiv has become a trusted partner of the firm, helping to manage our clients’ assets for almost a decade. Through offering global developed and emerging market equity exposure in one product, we believe his investment strategy will further help clients achieve their long-term goals,” he added.
The portfolio has been added to the Ucits Luxembourg-domiciled Goldman Sachs Funds Sicav, targeting both institutional and retail clients. It is registered for sale across a range of European countries.
