SGSS names new CEO Italy

Societe Generale Securities Services has promoted Frédéric Barroyer (pictured) as CEO Italy, effective since 1 July.

Based in Milan, he reports to Bruno Prigent, head of Securities Services at Societe Generale, and replaces Jeanne Duvoux.

Barroyer will be responsible for the development of the firm’s range of securities services in Italy.

Barroyer was deputy CEO Italy at SGSS since September 2014.

He joined Societe Generale group in 1993 and started his career at Fimat. He was promoted managing director of Societe Generale Fimat Asset Management in Ireland in 1994.

He then moved to Paris in 1998 as head of Financial Operations for Societe Generale Asset Management (SGAM).

In 2001, Barroyer was named chief operating officer of SGAM in Japan before being appointed CEO Asia Pacific ex Japan in 2005.

Barroyer also worked as SGSS’ CEO Germany and country manager from 2009 to 2014.
