Threadneedle hires Robson as fund manager global equities

Threadneedle Investments has appointed Neil Robson as fund manager in its global equities team, reporting to Jeremy Podger, head of global equities. Hewill join in November and will be lead manager on the Threadneedle (Lux) global focus fund.
 
Robson has more than 20 years' experience in global equities. He joins from Martin Currie Investment Management where he was global portfolio manager. Prior to joining Martin Currie in 2010, he was head of global equities at Pioneer Asset Management, having joined in 2003. From 1996 until 2003 Robson worked at Baring Asset Management as European and global equity manager.
 
The appointment brings Threadneedle's global equity team to eight under the leadership of Jeremy Podger. The team, which manages €2.0bn, benefits from collaboration with Threadneedle's broader equities team and from close interaction with colleagues across asset classes.
 
Robson will contribute to the company's global alpha funds and be instrumental in developing Threadneedle's concentrated global equity proposition.

New head of marketing at Iveagh Private Investment

Iveagh Private Investment House, the Guinness family office and asset management boutique, has appointed Caren Oxford as head of marketing.

Oxford joins Iveagh from Skandia Investment group where she was responsible for UK distribution channel marketing. Caren's 17 years of marketing experience in the financial services sector also includes designing and implementing marketing communications programs for Insight Investment and technical and product management marketing.

In a newly created role for the company, Oxford will be responsible for driving the marketing and communications strategy with a particular focus on the Iveagh Wealth Fund that was launched in 2008, and the Iveagh Core Portfolios which were launched in February 2011.

Oxford's arrival follows the appointment in August of William Beverley, formerly of Morgan Stanley, as head of macroeconomic research.

Merrill Lynch Wealth Management hires O'Sullivan

Merrill Lynch Wealth Management has appointed Paul O'Sullivan as a financial advisor focusing on UK and Irish high net worth individuals. Based in London, he will report to Adam Horowitz, head of UK, Ireland and Israel, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.

O'Sullivan has 14 years' experience in the banking industry. He joins from Credit Suisse, where he was a senior private banker, focusing on UK and Irish ultra high net worth individuals. Prior to this, he worked at UBS as a financial advisor.

La Française AM reinforces M&A capacity

French asset manager La Française AM has appointed Karina Perwald-Leroy as group legal director where she will oversee the group's internal and external M&A activity.

Perwald-Leroy will also be responsible for managing the group’s as well as its clients’, partners’ and distribution platforms’ legal and administrative activities.

She will report to de Jérôme Coirier, directeur of La Française AM. She joins from State Street France where she was a head of legal services and member of its executive committee.

La Française AM is a multi-asset management company based in Paris. Its clients include institutions, banking networks and individuals globally. Its total assets under management are over €35bn as at November 2 2011.
