BIL appoints ex-ING veteran as senior investment adviser

Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL) has appointed Laurent Abinet as senior investment adviser.
Abinet joins BIL from Inter Fund Management, where he worked as a senior equity portfolio manager during more than two years. Prior to that, the equity specialist worked as a senior portfolio manager at Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild Europe, based in Luxembourg for some four years.
Abinet also worked holding various positions at ING, where he served for ten years from 1996 to 2006. He joined ING’s Luxembourg team as a senior private banker and later worked as a senior portfolio manager, responsible for the management of a $500m US equity fund based on an investment process combining a top-down approach for sector allocation to a bottom-up security selection.
At ING Group, he also worked as a senior portfolio manager and as a senior risk manager for some four years.
Banque Internationale à Luxembourg, founded in 1856, is the oldest multi-business bank in the Grand Duchy. It currently operates in retail, private and corporate banking, as well as on the financial markets and is present in the financial centres of Luxembourg, Switzerland (since 1984), Denmark (since 2000), the Middle East (since 2005) and Sweden (since 2016).
