Spanish Banco Santander has named Mariano Belinki as the new responsible for its asset management division (Santander AM).
Belinki, who will be succeeding Juan Manuel San Román, has worked to the date as a managing partner of Santander InnoVentures, responsible for the $200m Santander InnoVentures fund – a strategy invested in fintech startups.
Prior to joining Santander InnoVentures in 2014, Belinki was associate director at McKinsey & Co, where he advised global banks and managers across Europe and the US. He also worked at Bridgewater Associates’ technological investigations team.
Víctor Matarranz, head of Santander WM division said: “Belinki’s background in the world of investment, technology and consultancy will boost Santander Asset Management to reach its full potential.”
Santander AM, with offices in 11 countries across Europe and LatAm, manages €182bn in assets of all type of asset classes.
