Goldman Sachs launches US small caps portfolio in Europe

Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) has launched the Goldman Sachs US Smaller Cap Equity Portfolio, for European investors seeking exposure to undervalued and high quality US smaller cap companies.
As a new sub-fund of the Ucits Luxembourg-domiciled Goldman Sachs Funds Sicav, the long-only high conviction portfolio will be managed by GSAM’s US small cap team. It targets both institutional and retail clients across European markets.
“US smaller caps offer a fertile ground for active management in a relatively under-researched universe. Through our rigorous stock-specific research process, we seek to generate consistent risk-adjusted outperformance across various market environments*,” said Sally Pope Davis, one of three co-lead portfolio managers for the US small cap team, alongside Rob Crystal and Sean Butkus.
“With the team’s deep expertise, we believe the smaller cap universe can offer our clients exposure to the potential leaders of tomorrow while diversifying an existing global equity allocation,” added Nick Phillips, head of GSAM’s International Retail Client Business.
As of 31 March 2018, GSAM had $1.29trn (€1.11trn) in AUM.
