Hard economic data (production, sales, car registrations) paint a rather upbeat picture for Euro Area GDP growth in Q1 this year, note economists at BNP Paribas.

This compares favourably to the rest of the world, considering the ongoing concerns about developing economies and the increasingly cautious tone of the Federal Reserve with respect to the US. Euro Area sentiment indicators however have weakened and are a reminder that caution is warranted going into the second quarter.
