Lazard Asset Management opens Amsterdam office

Lazard Asset Management has opened an office in Amsterdam to serve Netherlands-based clients.

The firm has also appointed Marcel van Ostaden to head the new Amsterdam office, who joins Lazard as director of sales for The Netherlands. Van Ostaden will be responsible for retail and institutional sales and marketing in the region.

Van Ostaden joins Lazard from Lombard Odier Investment Managers where he was country head of sales Benelux for six years. Prior to that, he worked as a sales director at BlackRock for seven years. Formerly, he held various sales roles at BMO Global Asset Management between 2001 and 2005.

Jeremy Taylor, CEO of Lazard Asset Management, said: “The Netherlands is an important and growing market for us. Marcel brings more than 20 years of investment industry experience, and his knowledge and expertise will position us well for continued growth in the region.”

Lazard Asset Management offers a range of equity, fixed income, and alternative investment products worldwide. As of the end of June 2018, the firm and affiliated asset management companies in the Lazard Group managed $238bn in assets.
