Santander Asset Management has made two new appointments recently, a spokesperson for the Spanish group told InvestmentEurope.
Last month, Wee-Tsen Lee joined Santander from Barclays Wealth to be responsible for manager selection global & US equities.
In addition, Pryesh Emrith was promoted within Santander in March, to be in charge of US & global fixed income and multi-asset.
The two new appointments are based in the group’s London headquarters and work for the Research and Selection team led by José María Martinez-Sanjuán, whose team covers across a full asset class range for a total of €48bn assets under influence.
Santander’s Asset Management team is split between three different locations: London, Madrid and Boston.
Half of total assets are in advisory services while the other half is in managed accounts, with the majority of them being in third party funds, Martinez-Sanjuán said previously.
“We work alongside our fund managers, helping them in the portfolio construction process by telling them which are the best managers for each strategy. We also help with the open architecture proposition which is offered by our private banking team to retail clients mainly,” Martinez-Sanjuán said.
