PriorNilsson takes Swedish prize for Fund Company of the Year

Swedish investor periodical Privata Affärer has recognised PriorNilsson as the Fund Company of the Year in its annual review of funds available to Swedish investors.

The manager also took home the award for Sweden Fund of the Year for its Sverige Aktiv, an actively managed Swedish equity fund, as well as the award for Hedge Fund of the Year for its Idea fund.

Other key awards were handed out for Smaller Companies Fund of the Year to Humle Småbolagsfond; the Global Fund of the Year went to Evli Global; the Emerging Markets Fund of the Year went to Sparinvest Sicav Ethical EM Value; and the prize for Upstart of the Year went to Tundra Sustainable Frontier.

PrionNilsson has also taken awards at Fondmarknaden.se, one of Sweden’s biggest fund platforms.

The award there for Best Ethical Fund of the Year went to SEB Hållbarhetsfond Global.

Spiltan Fonder Räntefond Sverige won the award for Fixed Income Fund of the Year, while PriorNilsson Yield won the Hedge Fund of the Year award.

Sector Fund of the Year went to Skandia Time Global, while Sweden Fund of the Year went to another PriorNilsson fund, Realinvest.

Nordic Fund of the Year went to Handelsbanken Fonder AB Nordiska Småbolagsfond, while the Europe Fund of the Year went to Invesco Continental European Small Cap Equity Fund.

The North America Fund of the Year award went to SEB Nordamerikafond Små och Medelstora Bolag, while Japan Fund of the Year went to M&G Securities Japan Smaller Companies Fund.

Emerging Market Fund of the Year went to Tundra Fonder AB Frontier Opportunities Fund, while Global Fund of the Year went to Evli Fondbolag Global.

The Fund of the Year award went to Handelsbanken Fonder AB Nordiska Småbolagsfond, and fund investing in SME sized businesses.

PriorNilsson also won Fund Company of the Year at the Fondmarknaden.se awards.

PriorNilsson Fund and Asset Management was set up in 2002 by Torgny Prior and PO Nilsson, who had previously worked together on the Tercenternary Foundation assets. The first of their hedge funds launched was Yield, which was followed by Idea. The Sverige Aktiv equity fund launched in 2012, and the Realinvest fund launched in 2013.
