Aviva appoints CIO Equities

Aviva Investors has appointed David Cumming as CIO Equities joining the company per 2 January.

In his new role, Cumming will be responsible for leading Aviva’s £69 (€78.2bn) equity team globally and report to group CIO Euan Munro.

He joins from Standard Life Investments (SLI), where he spent the last seven years as head of Equities. Prior to that, he worked for the group as an investment director. Before that, he worked among others at Morgan Grenfell Asset Management, Edinburgh Fund Managers and Royal London Mutual.

He takes over from Chris Murphy, who is currently global head of Equities and will continue to manage the Aviva Investors UK Equity Fund, the Aviva Investors UK Equity Income Fund and the Aviva Investors Distribution Fund.
