UBS AM appoints one for Spanish push

UBS Asset Management has hired Álvaro Cabeza to further develop the business of the Swiss firm in Spain, Funds People reported.

Cabeza joins UBS Asset Management from BlackRock where during three years, he worked for the firm’s sales team. Prior to that, he held the role of institutional sales manager Spain and head of sales Portugal at Amundi Asset Management, where he served for eight years.

Cabeza also worked at Crédit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank responsible at the desk origination desk for financial institutions both in Spain and Portugal. He previously worked at Intermoney.

UBS Asset Management, with presence in 23 countries, offer investment capabilities and investment styles across all major traditional and alternative asset classes. It currently manages €3.2bn in assets in Spain.
