Rowan Dartington has appointed John Betteridge (pictured), the former chief investment officer for Prudential UK’s Insurance Division, as non-executive director, as well as becoming chairman of the wealth manager’s Asset Allocation Committee.
As chief investment officer John had oversight of assets in excess of £150bn. His responsibilities included the high level investment strategy and monitoring and control of assets across Prudential’s with-profit, annuity, unit-linked and collective schemes. In addition to this, John managed the highly-regarded investment management business PMG within Prudential, leading a team of economists, portfolio managers, quantitative analysts and actuaries.
Graham Coxell, executive chairman of Rowan Dartington, commented: “We are delighted John is joining us. We have got to know John over the last few months, and he is a great fit for our culture and values, as well as bringing an exceptional track record of truly strategic investment oversight, for one of the UK’s largest insurers. John coming on board is another example of how far we have come as a business over the last three years. He is a fantastic addition to the team.”
