AllianceBernstein (AB) has appointed Giovanni De Mare as sales director for Italy thus strengthening the retail distribution in the Southern European country.
De Mare, who joins a team formed by Massimo Dalla Vedova and Nicola Meotti, will be responsible for increasing the Italian wholesale segment and for developing the firm’s distribution in the advisory retail market. De Mare will also contribute to further develop the institutional business of AllianceBernstein in Italy.
De Mare, who will report to AB’s head of Southern European region Jose Cosio, joins the firm from the Italian branch of Vontobel Asset Management, where he worked as head of retail distribution – executive director for more than 11 years. At Vontobel AM he also served as a senior sales manager.
Prior to his time at Vontobel AM, De Mare worked as a senior sales manager at Deutsche Asset Management and previously as a sales manager for around six years.
