Lombard Odier Investment Managers’ has hired Tim Yetman to build its global macro franchise.
Based in London, Yetman has previous experience setting up and running a billion-dollar hedge fund firm as founding partner of OLEA Capital Partners LLP.
Based in Geneva, LOIM offers clients a range of products including thematic investments, convertibles funds, fundamentally weighted fixed income, an asset allocation process providing truly diversified portfolios, as well as single-manager hedge funds.
LOIM’s managers seek to deliver performance by identifying sources of risk and return using absolute return, innovative passive investments and active strategies.
“Investors today need to focus more on a total rate of return from their portfolio in the face of lower returns and stagnant interest rates,” said Jan Straatman, chief investment officer.
He added: “Responding to volatile markets and the economic turmoil that goes with them, global macro strategies will become increasingly relevant and, we believe, offer strong sources of alpha to our clients.”
