Acatis registers value event-driven fund in Italy

German asset manager Acatis has announced the registration of its Acatis Gané Value Event Fonds in Italy.

The Acatis Gané Value Event Fonds, launched in 2008, merges two investment styles of value investing and event-driven investing, and aims to reduce fundamental risks in the selection of the fund’s positions by focusing on companies with strong business quality.s

By business quality Acatis refers to those companies standing our for their sustainability, their ability to defend an existing competitive advantage and the capacity to generate high free cash flows.

The fund allocation is comprised of 70% shares, 15% bonds and 15% liquidity and can invest up to 35% in public debt and loans of promissory notes of the Federal Republic of Germany. In this way, through a payment-flow-oriented approach and the determining of a time-weighted return, investments are made in shares and bonds that are comparable with each other.

Acatis Gané Value Event Fonds, with an annual return of 8.9% in 2017, managed €1.85bn of assets as of the end of January 2018.
