RWC partners has completed the acquisition of London-based European equity investor Pensato capital with the hire of its founder Graham Clapp.
The group, which as of August 2017 managed $280m (€235.6m), includes a seven-person strong investment team managing a European equity fund, a long / short Cayman domiciled European equity fund, a European absolute return fund, a long/short Ucits fund and a long-only Cayman domiciled fund. The team will now mange these funds for RWC Partners.
Pensato Capital’s Investment approach is characterised by a focus on bottom-up selection of mid-cap stocks, as Clapp stresses: “Our move to RWC will enable us to focus solely on what we do best – analysing companies – in what is and will remain a very exciting asset class for an active fund manager.”
RWC Partners’ CEO Dan Mannix adds: “We see real opportunity for active managers in European equities and we believe Graham’s energy, experience and talent make him one of the outstanding people in the asset class.
The completion of the acquisition takes RWC’s total assets under management to approximately $12bn (€10bn).
