Deutsche Bank names Postbank CEO to board

Deutsche Bank names Postbank CEO Frank Strauß to management board, effective 1 September. Together with deputy chairman of the board, Christian Sewing, he will lead the private and corporate bank.

Strauß will remain as chairman of the Board of Postbank. Together with Sewing, he will look after the merger of the Bonn institute with Deutsche Bank’s private and corporate customer business.

“We are reinforcing our management board with a well-known private and corporate expert who knows both Deutsche Bank and Postbank well”, said Paul Achleitner, chairman of Deutsche Bank’s Supervisory Board. “Together with Christian Sewing, Frank Strauss will ensure that the upcoming merger will combine the best of both worlds”.

Frank Strauß joined Deutsche Bank in 1995. From 2002 onwards, he coordinated the business in Europe for the private and business clientele. In 2005, he took over the responsibility for the development of the Asian business in Mumbai and Peking, one year later the management of the private and business client party on the German home market. In July 2011, he moved to Postbank, where he became Chairman of the management board a year later.
