RWC Partners has hired Geordie Barron, previously at JP Morgan Asset Management, to take on the role of growing sales of funds through intermediaries based in the southern part of the UK.
At JPMAM he managed relationships across the UK in both retail and wholesale channels. At RWC he will report to Gary Tuffield, head of UK Intermediary Distribution.
RWC reports that it grew its AUM by some $4bn to $14bn (€11.3bn) over the past year. It also launched a European equity fund range headed by Graham Clapp, who previously worked at Fidelity. Clapp’s appointment has generated “significant interest”, said Tuffield, who also noted that John Malloy, who leads RWC’s Global Emerging Markets strategy, has seen related assets grow to $4.5bn over the past three years.
