French boutique launches first US equity fund

French boutique Graphene Investments has launched its first US equity strategy, Graphene Actions USA, on 5 July 2017, InvestmentEurope has learned.
Last November, InvestmentEurope revealed that the firm, co-founded by former BNP Paribas’ head of International Equities Hubert Goyé (CEO of Graphene Investments) and Christophe Garon (COO of Graphene Investments), previously head of COO at BNP Paribas Cardif, was planning to launch two inaugural funds, one being a US equity growth strategy and the other a Japanese value equity fund.
Graphene Investments targets institutional investors.
The strategy will be fully invested in large companies listed in the US and seek to outperform the S&P 500 Net Return Index by 200-300 bps p.a.
It will rely on a stock-picking and disciplined approach, resulting from the combination of a proprietary quantitative investment process developed by Goyé during his tenure at BNP Paribas and a qualitative analysis.
The portfolio will consist of around 50 stocks with a permanent growth bias that can be modulated depending on market conditions.
Graphene Investments has been licensed as authorised asset management company in France since August 2016.
