Janus Henderson Investors has appointed Georgina Fogo as chief risk officer and member of the Company’s Executive Committee.

Fogo, currently BlackRock compliance officer, will join Janus Henderson on 2 July 2018, assuming responsibility for global risk and compliance. She succeeds David Kowalski, chief risk officer, who resigned in 2017. She will carry out her duties from the London headquarters.

Fogo has over 15 years of asset management and compliance experience. During this time she has built up and managed large international teams. Through her previous work in both Europe and the US, Fogo is familiar with the regulatory environment in both regions. Prior to her appointment as global head of Compliance at BlackRock, she served as head of Compliance for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa). Fogo joined BlackRock in December 2009 following the merger of BlackRock and Barclays Global Investors (BGI). Their job initially was to assemble and lead the Compliance Advisory Teams in EMEA and the US.
