Morath moves from Barings to Flossbach von Storch

German asset manager Flossbach von Storch has announced the appointment of Oliver Morath as managing director in charge of Business Development, Sales and Marketing as of 1 July.

In this newly created position, Morath will cover the distribution of mutual funds as well as firm’s expansion to new markets and distribution channels. He reports to Dirk von Velsen, director of Flossbach von Storch.

Morath joins from Barings Asset Management, where he worked most recently as head of European Sales. Prior to that, he was in charge of distribution for Nordea in Germany.

Dirk von Velsen comments on his appointment: “With the appointment of Oliver Morath we have won a seasoned expert in distribution, together with our distribution team, his know-how and international network will provide a significant boost to our mutual fund business, both nationally and internationally.”

Flossbach von Storch is currently present in Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Belgium. “We aim to expand our service offering in the existing core markets whilst appointing further members to the distribution team” von Velsen comments.
