BNP Paribas AM names Iberia head of marketing

BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNP Paribas AM) has appointed Teresa García as head of marketing for Spain and Portugal.
García (pictured), who will be Madrid-based, will report to both Christoph Niggl – global head of Wholesale Marketing – and locally to Sol Hurtado de Mendoza, general director of BNP Paribas AM Iberia.
In this newly-created position, García will be responsible for developing and managing the marketing strategy of BNP Paribas AM, aimed at boosting and strengthening the presence of the group in Spain and Portugal.
García, who has over 15 years’ experience, joins the firm from Capital Group, where she managed the marketing strategy of the group for Iberia and for its US Offshore clients. Prior to that, she held various senior positions in the marketing department of BNY Mellon Investment Management, being the latest that of Iberia marketing director.
García began her career in the asset management industry working at Newton Investment Management, based in London.
Sol Hurtado de Mendoza, BNP Paribas AM general director for Spain and Portugal, said: “García brings a wide experience in the development and implementation of cross-border marketing strategies for the European market, through various distribution channels including digital marketing programmes, advertising campaigns, events and conferences, and so on. Her appointment will strengthen the team’s capabilities while will help us to expand our business across Spain and Portugal.”
BNP Paribas AM had €569bn in assets under management and under administration as of the end of December 2017.
