These additions come at a time of significant growth for the German index engineer. Now Solactive is ready for the next big step as part of its plans of international expansion, starting with a first branch office in Canada.

Steffen Scheuble, CEO, Solactive AG, commented: “Solactive was born in 2007 as a small index shop. Ten years later, I am proud to say that we are about to take off with our first overseas office, which will be located in Toronto. I am also very happy to welcome Henseler, Pfeiffer and Chew to our team, as I believe their long track record of accomplishments and expertise across various areas will certainly enhance our brand globally & strengthen our presence in the indexing industry.”

Bernd Henseler has joined Solactive in May 2017 as the head of Americas with the mandate of overseeing the establishment of the first overseas office in Toronto. This strategic move will allow the company to be closer to its North American customers and easily respond to the growing demand in the region. In this new role, Bernd brings with him many years of experience in the indexing industry as a former vice president global head Channel Management Structured Products at S&P Dow Jones Indices.

Stephen Chew, previously director & COO of Europe for the Retail Structured Products Platform at Deutsche Bank, has been appointed as the Head of Platform Management, a new position created to enable growth and drive scalability in the business. Stephen will leverage on the experience acquired during 25 years in the banking industry, including managerial roles at BNP Paribas and JP Morgan, to manage the development of the index calculation platform and fine-tune in-house operations.

Timo Pfeiffer joins Solactive as the new head of Research & Business Development starting in July 2017 after more than 15 years at Deutsche Bank. Timo has held various management positions in London and Frankfurt, and had most recently served as managing director in charge of Structured Products Distribution in Europe. Timo’s goal is to further build up the research team by bringing focus and experience on Quantitative Investment Strategies, while uncovering strategic opportunities to drive Solactive into new ventures.
