Fidelity International has appointed Sonja Laud as head of Equity responsible for overseeing its equity income team.
Laud joins from Baring Asset Management where she managed multi asset portfolios and was a member of the firm’s asset allocation group.
She has more than 14 years’ experience in the asset management industry and was previously a fund manager at Schroders for eight years where she managed several global, European and UK equity funds with a focus on high-dividend stocks.
In her new role, Laud will be responsible for Fidelity’s equity income investment team which represents £12bn of assets under management and includes funds such as Fidelity Global Dividend and Fidelity MoneyBuilder Dividend.
She will report to Paras Anand, CIO equities, Europe at Fidelity International, who comments: “We are delighted to attract someone of Sonja’s calibre and experience to Fidelity. Our equity income funds have become increasingly popular among our clients in recent years as they continue to search for yield in today’s low interest rate environment.”
