Vanguard appoints senior ETF capital markets specialist for Europe

Vanguard has appointed Paul Young as European senior ETF capital markets specialist.

Reporting to Thomas Bartolacci, head of ETF Capital Markets, Europe, Young will play a key role in Vanguard’s ETF Capital Markets team, responsible for supporting the liquidity of Vanguard’s products and helping clients achieve their investment goals.

Young joins from State Street Global Advisors, where he was head of ETF Capital Markets, EMEA. He joined SSGA in 2007 as senior equities trader. Prior to this, he held roles at St James’s Place Wealth Management and Morgan Stanley Investment Management.

Vanguard has been expanding its ETF business since the beginning of the year with the appointment of Gregoire Blanc as senior ETF capital markets specialist, followed by the appointment of Simone Rosti as head of Italy in June, the addition of Markus Weis as deputy head of Germany and Austria in February, and Liz Wright, Rahul Thrakar and Christophe Collet joining as senior ETF specialists.

Vanguard’s European operations currently have over $175bn in assets under management as at the end of July 2018.
