He said: “The AFG will be, tomorrow even more than today, ready to meet the numerous challenges encountered by our activity. In order to give asset management its rightful place, we have to act resolutely for the education of the investors and strengthen the synergy between all the actors to increase our international competitiveness.”

Pinon has been deputy CEO of Acer Finance since 2006. During his career, that started in 1978 with stockbroker Michel Puger,  he held various roles at Matif and founded in 1989 Europe Egide Finance that was sold in 2003 to KBL France. He then became a member of KBL France’s executive board from 2003 to 2004, after which he served on its supervisory board in 2005.

Pinon has previously served as vice-chairman of AFG from 1997 to 2003.

Setbon joined Groupama AM in 2013 after spending nine years within Generali group where he held a number of positions such as investment director at General Investments France and chairman & CEO of Asset Management Group at Generali Investments.

He began his career in 1990 as financial analyst at Barclays Bank, Paris before joining Azur Group in 1993, where he successively served as European equities manager, head of Asset
Management and then chairman & CEO of asset management firm Boissy Gestion.

Setbon also spent one year at Rothschild & Cie Gestion as head of Equities Portfolio Management.

French asset management companies gathered by the AMF manage nearly €3.8trn in assets.
