Man GLG has appointed Louise Pugh as a portfolio manager for the firm’s European mid-cap equity strategy.
Pugh, who joined Man GLG in 2015 as an analyst for this strategy, will continue to report to Moni Sternbach, strategy portfolio manager and head of European Mid-Cap Equities.
The manager has added Brentley Campbell as an analyst within the European mid-cap equities team, working alongside Sternbach and Pugh.
Man GLG’s European mid-cap equity strategy seeks to generate positive returns through long and short investments over the segment.
Commenting on Pugh’s appointment, Sternbach said: “I am delighted to congratulate Louise on her new role as portfolio manager. This promotion reflects the significant contribution Louise has made to our investment strategy in recent years and the breadth of responsibilities she has undertaken. As we look forward to 2018 and the adoption of MiFID II, we expect an overall reduction in research payments and analyst coverage to increase the inefficiencies in the European mid-cap equity market segment and thus the potential opportunities to generate alpha.”
Man GLG, part of Man Group, managed $32.9bn (€26.9bn) of assets as of 30 September 2017.
