BNY Mellon appoints new EMEA head
BNY Mellon has appointed Dean Fletcher as regional head of BNY Mellon Corporate Trust, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Before his appointment, Fletcher was co-head of EMEA for Corporate Trust with Joe Duffy who remains chief executive officer of The Bank of New York Mellon (Ireland) and will continue to focus on the growth of BNY Mellon’s Irish businesses in his capacity as country executive for Ireland.
Fletcher continues to report to James Maitland, head of client and business development for EMEA and the Asia Pacific.
He joined BNY Mellon in 2008 as head of structured products, corporate trust, EMEA.
He has significant experience in managing a portfolio of market-leading business lines that have provided a full range of trustee, agency and administration services across the debt capital markets.
Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Fletcher spent five years with JPMorgan Chase worldwide securities services as business head for structured finance services and then global head of risk, based in New York.
This was followed by three years at Barclays Capital Services as global head of operational risk.

Principal Global Investors hires McAndrew
Principal Global Investors (Europe) has appointed Carl McAndrew as director and head of consultant relations.
He is responsible for developing and strengthening Principal’s relationships with consultants across asset classes and geographies in the European region, as well as enhancing the consultant community’s awareness of Principal’s multi boutique business model. He will report to the firm’s European head, Nick Lyster.
Nick Lyster, Principal CEO, said McAndrew’s appointment would help build the company’s presence in Europe.

Prior to joining Principal, McAndrew was a director at Unigestion, the independent asset manager, where he was responsible for specialist institutional sales of the firm’s products in the UK.
His career spans more than 23 years in the asset management industry. He has held senior roles at Bank of Ireland Asset Management, Credit Suisse Asset Management and Nomura Asset Management.
