Paris-headquartered BNP Paribas Investment Partners (BNPP IP) has appointed Claus Hecher (pictured) as head of Business Development for Germany, Austria and the German-speaking regions of Switzerland within its indexed fund and ETF business.
Hecher takes up his new position as from 1 September and will report to Isabelle Bourcier, named head of ETF and Indexed Fund Activities last June.
Based in Munich, he will be responsible for developing BNP Paribas Easy, BNP Paribas Investment Partners’ ETF and indexed solutions franchise, with German-speaking investors, institutions and distribution networks.
Hecher joins from Natixis Global Asset Management where he was a consultant in the ETF sales team.
Between 2008 and 2012 he worked at Blackrock where he was head of Sales for Germany and Austria at iShares,
Hecher started his career in equity derivatives at Deutsche Bank in 1987 then spent 16 years in sales roles in Frankfurt, Zurich and London.
He was also head of structured equity products sales team for Germany and Austria at Bear Stearns between 2003 and 2006 and at Natixis Corporate & Investment Bank from 2006 to 2007.
BNPP IP managed assets totalling €532bn as at 30 June 2016. Assets managed in indexed funds and ETFs accounted for €14.7bn.
