Dexion Capital has announced that Magnus Spence has joined the company as head of Asset Management.
Spence will be responsible for expanding the group’s range of real asset and alternative credit fund offerings, the company said.
He joins Dexion Capital with over 20 years of asset management experience including a number of leading roles at Mercury Asset Management/Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
In 2002 Spence co-founded Dalton Strategic Partnership LLP, a global investment management firm with approximately $2bn of assets under management.
Speaking about the new position, Ana Haurie, group managing director of Dexion Capital, said: “Magnus is a seasoned professional with a strong record of building asset management businesses. We are delighted to welcome him into the company to lead the growth of our asset management activities.”
Commenting on his appointment, Spence said: “Dexion Capital has established itself as a leading provider of alternative investments. The firm is well positioned to address investors’ growing demand for alternative assets, which can deliver uncorrelated returns, strong yields and some protection against the risk of inflation in the years to come. I am delighted to be joining the team at this exciting time.”
