German investment and private bank Berenberg has announced the appointment of Kallum Pickering as senior UK economist.
Based in London, he will be responsible for UK macroeconomic commentary and analysis, working with Berenberg’s chief economist Holger Schmieding.
Pickering joins Berenberg from BNP Paribas where he worked as an economist focusing on UK, Ireland and Nordic macro and real estate. Previously, he was senior economist at The Construction Products Association.
His appointment follows that of Mickey Levy as chief US and Asia economist in New York, and Manfred Schlumberger as CIO in Frankfurt.
David Mortlock, head of Berenberg UK, said: “We are pleased to welcome Kallum Pickering to Berenberg as Senior UK economist. Having recently strengthened our team in the US and Europe, Kallum’s appointment underlines our continued commitment to providing our clients with high quality economic analysis to guide their investment decisions globally.”
