Swedish frontier markets specialist Tundra has led a seminar on ESG (environmental, social and governance) issues for both companies and analysts in Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo.
Together with the Colombo Stock Exchange, the CSE – Tundra Sustainability Forum, took place 5 March. Key listed companies in the country were targeted with a seminar on the importance of ESG and reasons why ESG factors need to be considered if foreign capital is to be attracted, explains Jon Scheiber, CEO.
Those taking part included the manager’s head of ESG, Jennie Ahrén, and CIO, Mattias Martinsson, with a focus on how ESG is incorporated into investment decisions as well as latest trends in ESG, Scheiber said.
Panel discussions included non-governmental organisations in Sri Lanka, including Ecpat and Transparency International.
Tundra also held a workshop for local sellside analysts on how ESG can be incorporated into stock recommendations.
“This is a continuation of our efforts to spread the importance of sustainable investments across frontier markets. We do this by utilizing our local presence,” Scheiber added.
