AXA Investment Managers has appointed Laurent Seyer as Global Head of Distribution, tasked with attracting and increasing AXA IM’s third party assets.

Laurent Seyer, who is currently Global Head of Multi-Asset Client Solutions (MACS) at AXA IM, will be responsible for strengthening relationships with AXA IM’s third-party clients and ensuring the firm’s high-quality investment solutions are distributed effectively to external investors worldwide. He remains a member of AXA IM’s Management Board and is based in Paris, reporting to Andrea Rossi, CEO of AXA IM.

As a result of Laurent Seyer’s new role there will be a number of other changes within AXA IM’s Management Board.

On March 1, 2014, Christophe Coquema, previously AXA IM’s Chief Operating Officer, will replace Laurent as Global Head of MACS, whilst Joseph Pinto, previously Global Head of Markets and Investment Strategy (MIS) will become Global Chief Operating Officer. They will both remain members of AXA IM’s Management Board, reporting to Andrea Rossi. Laurent Seyer will continue to act as Global Head of MACS, in addition to his new responsibilities as Global Head of Distribution, until the beginning of March 2014.

Andrea Rossi, CEO of AXA IM, comments: “AXA IM has built its success and reputation on its ability to support the complex and evolving investment and risk management issues of the AXA Group through innovation and tailored solutions – SmartBeta, High Yield or Loans solutions more recently. Our goal is to bring this know-how to a greater number of investors, in a more focused and systematic way.”

“Laurent Seyer is ideally positioned to take on this role. Having been the CEO of Lyxor Asset Management from 2006 to 2012, and having designed and delivered tailor-made multi-asset class solutions for our principal client AXA Group as well as other institutional investors since then at AXA IM, he perfectly understands the investment issues clients are facing today. Christophe Coquema will continue to build on the foundations laid by Laurent in the MACS team, further strengthening the relationship with the AXA Group, while Joseph Pinto with his extensive experience across various departments at AXA IM, was the natural choice to step into the Global COO role.
