California-based asset manager Franklin Templeton Invesments has appointed Erika Arevuo as head of institutional marketing.

Arevuo will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and providing strategic oversight of the firm’s global institutional marketing efforts.

Based in London and reporting to executive vice president Global Marketing Services David McSpadden, Arevuo will work closely with the firm’s existing distribution, product management and marketing teams globally, developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to elevate the firm’s presence among institutional investors.

With over 30 years’ experience, Arevuo joins Franklin Templeton Investments from BlackRock, where she was director of EMEA Global Institutional Marketing. Prior to that, she was EMEA head of Investor Services Marketing at JP Morgan based in London. Formerly, she worked as head of European Marketing and Communications at State Street Global Advisors, also in London

David McSpadden said: “Growing our existing presence globally among institutional clients continues to be a strategic priority for the firm. Erika’s decades of knowledge and experience developing and executing large scale, multi-channel campaigns to this investor base will be instrumental in helping the firm take its institutional business to the next level.”

Erika Arevuo added: “Franklin Templeton is a well-established player in the global institutional market. I look forward to working closely with the existing first-class distribution and marketing teams to deliver tailored and empowering marketing strategies to grow the firm’s reach and visibility amongst institutional investors globally.”
