Aberdeen Standard Investments hires one for Spain's sales push

Aberdeen Standard Investments has named Ana Guzmán as head of sales for Southern Europe and Iberia country head.
Guzmán, who will be based in Madrid while supervising also the distribution team in Italy, will report to the company’s head of business development for Europe Rik Brouwer.
The new distribution team in Spain will be completed with Mauro Lorán and Álvaro Antón hired as senior business development managers, Faris Hamadeh as business development manager, and Rocío Hernández as client manager.
Guzmán joined Aberdeen in 2013, working as a senior business development manager when Aberdeen Asset Management opened its first office in Spain. Then in 2015, she worked as the country head of the Spanish division of Aberdeen AM Limited. She had formerly worked at Dekabank as director of institutional sales for Spain, Andorra and Portugal. Guzmán started her career in 2004 as a fund manager focusing on fixed income and funds of funds at March Gestión and Caja España Fondos.
The appointment is part of the group’s new structure arising from the merger between Aberdeen Asset Management and Standard Life Investments, which was completed in August 2014 after being firstly announced on 6 March 2017.
