UK renewable energy investment firm Future Capital Partners (FCP) has hired venture capital advisory company founder Robert Jolliffe ahead of a new fund launch.
Jolliffe, who founded investment transaction consultancy The Princedale Partnership in 2008, began a senior advisory role with FCP on Monday 6 June.
The firm is set to launch a Sanctuary Fund, aimed at delivering returns from UK government-backed socially responsible investment projects. It will also generate income, FCP said.
Due to be launched in the next two months, the fund is subject to approval by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.
The fund is targeting returns of 7% net of charges, investing in social infrastructure and renewable energy projects, particularly those benefitting from feed-in-tariff subsidies and other similar financing arrangements.
It is aimed at retail and wealth management intermediaries, personal pension and retirement planners, accountancy and tax advisers, discretionary portfolio managers and high net worth individuals. Investors can access the fund directly or through SIPPs, SASSs or offshore bonds.
With a background in structured debt and asset management, including 14 years at ABN AMRO Bank, Jolliffe is responsible for the fund’s development and delivery to market.
Pictet Asset Management
The institutional asset management arm of Swiss bank Pictet & Cie has added to its Asia total return team.
Anthony Cheung leaves Gartmore Investment Management where he was an investment manager–specialising in China within its global emerging markets team–to take up a senior investment manager position.
At Pictet, he will co-manage Asia equity long/short funds, reporting to Nidhi Mahurkar, head of that team.
Cheung has also worked at ABN AMRO Asset Management and Central Asset Investments in Hong Kong.
