As a consequence of the ongoing crisis in Southern Europe, Italian retail investors still favor guaranteed returns and capital protection over yields, according to findings of a recent research by Italy’s asset manager Anima SGR on 550 Italian households.

In its second study ‘Osservatorio Anima’, the company found that despite challenges imposed by the eurozone crisis, 55% of Italy’s investors are still planning to allocate part of their savings in asset management tools.

Clients are looking for financial products able to guarantee both invested capital and a minimum yield (33%), and they don’t show strong appetite for risk.

To choose their asset manager, clients rely on the brand (17%), and on quality of services offered, such as transparency and post-sale services (13%).
