US asset manager Neuberger Berman has appointed Alberto Granados as client associate to its sales team in Spain.
Granados, with 10 years’ experience, joins Neuberger Berman from Franklin Templeton, where he worked as the firm’s client services for Iberia.
Prior to that, Granados worked at Allfunds Bank, where from the firm’s London office he was responsible for the firm’s relationships with the different asset managers and Transfer Agents of the UK and Ireland. He also worked for Allfunds in Spain.
Granados will report to Iberia country head Javier Núñez de Villavicencio.
The appointment boosts the firm’s commitments to Southern Europa, with a special focus on Spain and Italy. The company recently appointed Alberto Salato to the newly-created role of head of Southern Europe.
Neuberger Berman has in recent years built up a strong local presence in Southern Europe, having opened a Milan office in 2011 and established a Madrid presence in 2015. The employee-owned firm also added a private equity team based in Milan in 2015.
