Property investment manager Cordea Savills has strengthened its residential team with the recruitment of Julian Symons as director of Development.

Prior to joining Cordea Savills, Symons spent 14 years at McBains Cooper where he led the risk management team and worked on residential developments in London including The Lancasters, a luxury residential scheme overlooking Hyde Park, The Heron Residencies Tower in the Barbican and phase 1 of the landmark regeneration project of Battersea Power Station.

The news of Symons’ move comes shortly after Cordea Savills announced the first close of its second Prime London Residential Development Fund (PLRDF II). This follows the success of PLRDF I, launched in 2012,  which has invested in five high quality prime central London sites which are currently being developed for sale with a gross development value in excess of £250m.

Patrick Carr, fund director of PLRDF I & II, commented: “Julian brings with him a wealth of development experience which will be invaluable as we increase our residential development fund offering. With five high profile developments already underway and a target equity raise of £100m – £150m for PLRDF II, we expect to have a substantial development pipeline within two years. Julian’s input will be integral to our success.”
